Lysine Diet

The amino acid Lysine has an antiviral action, particularly effective against Herpesvirus infections:

• Herpes Simplex 1 (Cold Sores)
• Herpes Simplex 2 (Genital)
• Varicella Zoster (Chickenpox/Shingles)
• Epstein Barr (EBV)
• Cytomegalovirus (CMV)

Lysine has a competitive relationship with Arginine. Supplementing with Lysine is beneficial for treating any of the herpes virus. However, you can easily prevent viral symptoms by following a diet that is high in Lysine and low in Arginine.
