Naturopathic Testing
Frequently Asked Questions
Can you help me understand my blood test results?
I can help you understand relevant health issues indicated by pathology test results. We can discuss how nutritional, metabolic and lifestyle factors may relate to your symptoms and medical advice.
Blood test interpretation should always be considered in context, and conventional reference ranges do not necessarily provide a complete picture of an individual’s health.
I regularly collaborate with holistic doctors and dentists.
What should I do if my blood tests are “normal” but I still feel unwell?
Blood markers are often late-stage indicators of disease. It is also helpful to be aware that medical ranges are calculated averages of all the sick people they treat. Optimal health ranges are much tighter windows of variation.
Functional lab test samples often include saliva, urine, hair, stool, and breath for more accurate diagnosis.
Do you use functional health testing?
Where appropriate, testing may be considered as one component of a broader assessment.
Testing should have a clear purpose: the result should have the potential to add useful information and influence the management strategy.
Testing is not automatically necessary for everyone. I do not find that more tests necessarily translate to better healthcare.
